Class Descriptions
Tiny Tots:
This class is designed to help young students learn basic rhythmic skills, such as clapping and counting to the music. We will focus on the basic skills learned in tap, tumbling, jazz and ballet. We will also tap a little into tumbling learning basic skills used for flexibility and movement. We will practice following the leader and taking turns. This class is getting them ready to join a class where they will be able to pass off and learn more advanced skills. Throughout the year we will also be working on dances. We will strive to get 1 dance learned for each recital, dance styles include… Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical or Character. (Nov. and June) Each student will need to come to class with black tap shoes and pink ballet shoes. Dance appropriate attire is also required; leotard and tights or hot shorts. (Please no full footed tights, they will slip on the mats when we do tumbling.) A Costume fee of $50.00 will be required the first part of the year. This will get them a leotard, skirt and pant of some sort. If the dance requires the use of a prop a minimal fee for that will also be added to your account. This class is not a competition class and will not be required to attend them, but other performance opportunities will be announced as the year goes on! Look forward to notes explaining them. Superstars Combo:
This class is designed to help young students learn basic tap, tumbling, jazz and ballet skills. In this class we will focus on passing off Tap and Tumbling 1, upon passing them off a reward or metal will be given to the student. We will also focus on flexibility with a prize for those who get their splits and straddlesJ We will also focus on basic Ballet and jazz skills, this will be accomplished by across-the-floor and center ballet work. Passing off of single pirouettes will also be worked on throughout the year! Throughout the year we will also be working on dances. This class is designed to help young dancers learn the basic skills of hip hop. They will learn how to count music and learn to find the beat. We will focus on basic hip hop and break dancing skills. If your dancer wants a relaxed style of dance with lots of fun movements, hip hop would be great for them! They are not required to wear anything specific, other than loose clothing that can move.J They will learn 1 dance per semester and will be required to purchase a costume of $30.00. We would like these students to participate in 1 competition this next year. It will be a local one and will give the students the opportunity of dancing in front of a large group of people. Competition cost range from $8.00-10.00 a dance.

We will focus on basic-intermediate hip hop and break dancing skills. If your dancer wants a relaxed style of dance with lots of fun movements, hip hop would be great for them! They are not required to wear anything specific, other than loose clothing that can move.J They will learn 1 dance per semester and will be required to purchase a costume of $30.00. This class will participate in all the competition that we go to throughout the year!
Teen:
This class is designed to help dancers who want to focus on Hip Hop and Jazz skills. They will begin with a warm-up focusing on flexibility and then a few combinations across the floor, getting their coordination together with the beat of the music. This class will learn 1 dance per semester, learning either Jazz or Hip hop. They will then perform them the recital. We also would encourage these dancers to participate in a competition that will give them the opportunity to dance in front of a large group of people. If your dancer wants a fun class that will improve their dance skills, this is the class for them. A costume fee of $50.00 is also required; it will get them a hip hop and a jazz costume. If the dance requires the use of a prop a minimal fee for that will also be added to your account.
